Beginning her producing career with Darlings, Alia Bhatt talked about her path and gave some insight into what her production company's future holds.
She stated in the Forbes conference, "What started off as a bit of a mathematical calculation, ended up being a production house. So, when Darlings came to me, I didn¡¯t want to loan the production of the film. So I decided to charge a lesser fee and also that I¡¯ll take the backend of the film. Actually what I realized by that time was that I was way more interested in what happens behind the camera and what it takes to make a movie. Ten years into the industry, I have had my first film as a producer out and I feel that the understanding that I have gathered on making a movie like Darlings has been extremely substantial. I am always learning - That¡¯s my motto! I believe that you continuously learn and grow. You should also always ask questions because you don¡¯t have all the answers, no one has, even Bill Gates doesn¡¯t."
The actress went on to say that in addition to feeling good financially, doing it also seemed right for her personally and creatively.?Alia stated that instead of producing content on a constant basis, she would pick a specific objective and perhaps even create a show, a movie, or even a podcast.
She concluded, "Whatever the case, I know that I want to put out content that I connect with and has an emotional core that is extremely high. I want to be a part of a filmmaking process behind the camera and not just in front of the camera."
In the movie Darlings, Alia plays the role of Badru, a woman who is coping with an alcoholic husband and thinks things might improve if he stopped drinking. But when his fury goes too far, she and her mother bravely¡ªthough awkwardly¡ªseek revenge.?Darlings have received a lot of praise from both the public and the critics. Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma's performance was also lauded by the fans.
Vijay's ability to manipulate the grey-shaded characters is evident in how quickly Hamza's mood can go from 0 to 100. Even the crocodile tears of the character aid in his transformation from a demonic entity to a devoted husband. His character was well-liked so much so, that even Shah Rukh Khan showed his interest in playing Hamza.
