Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story OTT release date:?Netflix is doubling down on true crime. Following the success of its 2022 docuseries Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story, the platform is now turning its focus to one of Britain's most infamous criminal duos - Fred and Rose West. Titled Fred & Rose West: A British Horror Story, the three-part series is set to premiere on May 14, 2025 on Netflix.
The horrifying crimes carried out by Fred and Rose West over nearly 20 years left a lasting scar on the UK and are considered among the most chilling in the country's criminal history.?
Fred, who died by suicide in prison in 1995, was responsible for the murders of at least 12 young women between 1967 and 1987, many of which he committed alongside his second wife, Rose, who is still incarcerated.
According to Deadline, the upcoming docuseries will include exclusive interviews with victims' family members speaking publicly for the first time.?
It will also feature never-before-seen police footage and unheard audio recordings. The series is being produced by Blink Films and directed by Dan Dewsbury, known for Louis Theroux's Forbidden America.
Between 1967 and 1987, Fred West and his wife Rosemary "Rose" West tortured, sexually abused, and murdered at least 12 young women and girls, including their own daughter.?
Many of the victims were buried at their home on 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester, a place that later became known as the "House of Horrors."
Fred had already been involved in violent acts before meeting Rose, including the murder of his former partner.?
Rose, whom he met when she was a teenager, soon became an active accomplice in the abuse and killings. The couple often targetted vulnerable young women, luring them in with promises of shelter or work.
Fred took his own life in prison in 1995 before facing trial, while Rose was convicted of 10 murders that same year and remains in prison for life without parole.?
Their case is the focus of many documentaries, books, and now Netflix's upcoming docuseries.
