Overcompensating OTT Release Date: Get ready for a show that¡¯s equal parts funny, touching and honest. This upcoming brand-new queer comedy series created by Benito Skinner, is all set to premiere on May 15, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video. With themes of identity, friendship, and self-acceptance, Overcompensating promises to be a heartfelt ride that many will find relatable.
The series follows Benny, played by Benito Skinner, a former high school football star and homecoming king. On the outside, Benny fits the image of the perfect guy. But deep down, he is struggling. As he enters college, he starts to feel the weight of all the years he spent pretending to be someone he¡¯s not. That¡¯s when he meets Carmen, played by Wally Baram.
She is confident, outspoken and unapologetically herself. She doesn¡¯t care what people think and isn¡¯t afraid to speak her mind. The two come from very different worlds but form a close friendship that becomes the heart of the series. Carmen helps Benny come to terms with his identity, while Benny shows Carmen that it¡¯s okay to be vulnerable. Together, they explore what it means to live honestly and support each other through life¡¯s messy moments.
Skinner and Baram leadOvercompensating with great chemistry and are supported by a strong ensemble. Mary Beth Barone plays Benny¡¯s sister Grac. Adam DiMarco, known for his role in The White Lotus, plays Grace¡¯s boyfriend, while Rish Shah is a potential love interest for Benny. Connie Britton and Kyle MacLachlan play Benny¡¯s parents.
