Veteran actor Irrfan Khan's son Babil Khan made his Bollywood debut with the Netflix film Qala. Directed by Anvita Dutt, this psychological drama also stars Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee in pivotal roles. At a special screening of the film, Irfan's friend and co-actor of multiple films, Tabu was seen gracing the occasion.
One of Irfan's fans shared the video and wrote, ¡°I might cry. (crying emoji) I don't talk much about what Tabu and Irrfan mean to me but I loved them and their cinema and THIS right here, matters!¡± Tabu in the video can be seen running her fingers through Babil's hair as she visibly settles in an emotional moment. Reacting to the video, a person wrote, ¡°I just hope and pray he does so well and is given all the love and support from the industry. Good luck Babil.¡± Another said, ¡°This made me cry, this is so emo (emotional) to watch them.¡± One more fan reacted, ¡°That's Babil?? Awwww.¡± Babil is Irrfan's son with his wife Sutapa Sikdar who he married in 1995. The duo also has another son named Ayaan Khan.
For the unversed, Tabu and Irrfan worked together in some critically acclaimed films like Maqbool, The Namesake, Life Of Pi, Ghaath, Talvaar and Haider. Babil's Qala on the other hand is a? film set in the 1930s and revolves around the tumultuous relationship between an aspiring singer (Tripti Dimri) and her domineering mother (Swastika Mukherjee).
He told Hindustan Times, ¡°I am always comparing myself to the legacy¡you know, bhaar hai (there is a weight on my shoulders). I am a person who wants to give the best when I am doing something. We shot this two years ago. I have grown as an actor a lot. So, I always wonder 'I wish I would have done this or that'. But I also believe that whatever art you make has its own journey and you can't bring your own ego into it.¡±
¡°Baba's entire work was always about the connect with people. He didn't care about awards, or who was producing or directing him. He just knew he had to play this character and he would draw that from the people. That has come into me as well,¡± he added. Post Qala, Babil will be seen in the web series The Railway Men co-starring R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, and Divyenndu.
