Shahid Kapoor Signed SLB's 'Padmavati' On The Advice Of His Radha Soami Satsang's Baba!

After a lot of speculations and rumours, it’s finally confirmed that Shahid Kapoor is a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. If sources are to be believed, Shahid will play the hero in the historical saga and Deepika will be his love interest. Ranveer, on the other hand, will play a villain or the anti-hero.

In a report carried out by DNA, Shahid Kapoor has signed for this film after his guru Baba Gurinder Singh’s approval. He is the spiritual leader of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas sect and Shahid is a follower of this philosophical organization.

“Shahid and Mira follow the Baba’s advice in all things. They even went to Beas to ask him if the name they chose (Misha) for their child was the right one. In fact, Shasha signed on for Padmavati only after his guru said yes,” a source told DNA.

According to reports, Shahid Kapoor was reluctant about signing this film. Probably because both Ranveer and Deepika, who are his juniors, ?have a lot of blockbuster hits under their belt whereas none of his films have made it to the 100 crore club.
