Loveyapa box office verdict: Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor¡¯s Loveyapa, which hit the screens on February 7, opened to a slow response at the Indian box office despite receiving positive reviews. It then failed to witness any substantial growth over the weekend. The romantic comedy drama¡¯s run is now over, and the final verdict is out.?
Junaiid Khan and Khushi Kapoor tried to impress the audience with Loveyapa, their first theatrical release, and succeeded to a certain extent as their performances received a thumbs up from the audience. The film, however, did not live up to expectations at the box office. According to Manobala Vijayabalan, a trade analyst, the Hindi remake of Love Today earned just Rs 8 crore in India. He went on to call it a ¡®loss venture¡¯.?
¡°The film collected just ?8 cr from its run. Huge loss venture when compared to its budget,¡± he told Indiatimes.
Loveyapa was shot on a budget of Rs 60 crore. It opened in theatres on February 7 alongside Badass Ravi Kumar. According to Koimoi, an entertainment portal, Himesh Reshammiya¡¯s actioner dominated Junaid¡¯s film and went on to collect Rs 16. 3 crore in India. This was a good result given the fact that it was shot on a budget of merely 20 crore.?
Loveyapa also failed to hold its own against Sanam Teri Kasam, which re-released in theatres on the day and went on to collect Rs 50 crore in its second run.? Interestingly, Himesh is the music director of the Harshvardhan Rane-led film.?
Loveyapa was a crucial outing for Junaid as it marked his first theatrical release. He was earlier seen in Maharaj, which premiered on Netflix in 2024. Loveyapa had the potential to help build a fan following and rise in the industry. However, going by the result, things have not played out as planned. According to Manobala, this may affect his prospects.?
¡°It will hamper Junaid¡¯s future chances. One huge flop shakes even tier 1 stars, They don't get relief till they give a comeback film. The same applies to Junaid,¡± said Manobala.?
He further added that good offers will again come his way if he manages to deliver a hit.?
