The Padma Awards 2025 ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan¡¯s Durbar Hall on Monday, where President Droupadi Murmu honoured 71 individuals for their contributions to various fields. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were present during the event.
In total, 139 personalities were selected for the Padma Awards ¡ª Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri ¡ª on the eve of India's 76th Republic Day. While 71 received their awards at this ceremony, the others will be felicitated in a separate function soon.
The awards celebrate remarkable achievements in music, cinema, literature, sports, medicine, banking, spirituality, and industry.

2. Lakshminarayana Subramaniam
Renowned violinist honoured for his outstanding contribution to Indian classical music.
3. Dr. D Nageshwar Reddy
Chairman of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, celebrated for his pioneering work in gastroenterology.
4. M T Vasudevan Nair (Posthumous)
Malayalam author and filmmaker, awarded posthumously for excellence in literature and cinema.
1. Pankaj Udhas (Posthumous)
Veteran singer known for his ghazals and contribution to Indian music.
2. Sushil Kumar Modi (Posthumous)
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, honoured for his contributions to public service.
3. Shekhar Kapur
Veteran actor and filmmaker celebrated for his work in Indian and international cinema.
4. Ajith Kumar
Tamil actor, honoured for his contributions to cinema and his pursuits in sports.
1. Arundhati Bhattacharya
Former chairperson of State Bank of India, recognised for leadership in banking.
2. Pawan Kumar Goenka
Industrialist and IN-SPACe Chairman, honoured for his contributions to the automotive and space sectors.
3. Ravichandran Ashwin

5. Dr. Arkalgud Anantaramaiah Surya Prakash
Scholar acknowledged for his work in education and research.

Surgeon honoured for his work in heart surgeries.
7. Bhimavva Doddabalappa Shilleky
96-year-old puppeteer recognised for her efforts in preserving traditional puppetry.
