Jennie hit the stage on April 13 at the Outdoor Theatre, performing new tracks like Mantra, Handlebars, ZEN, and F.T.S., as well as her fan-favorite Like JENNIE.
She made her solo Coachella debut after previously performing with BLACKPINK, who made history in 2019 as the first K-pop girl group at the festival and later returned as headliners in 2023.
As it was the prime time slot, the crowd for Jennie's set was massive¡ªshe even admitted she didn¡¯t expect so many people to show up, thanking fans for the love.
"It feels like a dream to be back in this desert performing at the Outdoor Theatre," Jennie told fans on stage. "I hope we can all have fun together tonight."
"I didn't expect this many people to show up. It really looks like a huge crowd. Thank you for coming to my Coachella stage."
As clips of the performance made their way online, some fans were left underwhelmed. Several pointed out that Jennie seemed low on energy throughout the set. From the vocals to the choreography, things just didn¡¯t feel as sharp or powerful as expected.
¡°She was barely singing,¡± one fan commented, while others said the dancing felt half-hearted and lacked the aura she usually oozes. There were also some accusations of lip-syncing.
Meanwhile, many fans loved the visual concept of the stage and praised Jennie for pulling off such a huge performance solo.
Adding to the buzz, BLACKPINK members Lisa and Ros¨¦ were spotted in the crowd watching her perform, cheering her on. The three later met backstage, which gave fans a wholesome moment.
