At the center of it all is Isagi Yoichi, a high school forward who gets selected to join the program after a critical moment during a game〞he passed the ball to a teammate instead of taking the shot himself, and it cost them a shot at Nationals. That hesitation sticks with him. Now, inside a high-intensity training facility run by the ruthless and eccentric Coach Ego Jinpachi, Isagi joins 299 other skilled forwards to lead Japan to glory.
In chapter 300 of Blue Lock, Seishiro Nagi is officially disqualified after finishing 24th in the Neo Egoist League. He needed to be in the top 23 to move forward. Even though Reo Mikage and Yoichi Isagi try to speak up for him, Coach Ego refuses to change his decision. He believes Nagi has lost his drive, and Nagi agrees.
Nagi tells Reo that Ego was right. After beating Isagi, he felt satisfied and lost his motivation. He admits that he only cared about Reo and apologizes for depending on him too much. Reo tells Nagi not to say sorry and that he appreciated their time together.
As Nagi walks toward the exit, Isagi calls out to him and tells him not to give up on soccer. Nagi doesn't say anything, but a small look in his eyes suggests that Isagi's words may have reached him.
