Amid the rising heat of the Indian Premier League 2025, the electrifying action is just not happening on the fields but also in the commentary room. Recently, a video of former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu and Navjot Singh Sidhu during the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) is making rounds on social media, where the duo is seen having a fun conversation that quickly turned into a heated banter on a comment based on CSK's MS Dhoni.
Well, the whole incident happened in the commentary box while commentating during the PBKS vs. CSK match, and it all started off with Rayudu accusing Sidhu of shifting his loyalties with regard to the team backed by him. This is when he calls Sidhu a 'girgit' (chameleon).
Immediately, Rayudu started laughing after remarking; on the other hand, Sidhu strongly reacted with a reaction that has now gone viral on social media.
If you notice in the video, Sidhu is seen showing a strong reaction, and he says, What you are saying is completely wrong. "Girgit agar kisi kaa aaradhyadev hain toh woh tumhara hain" (If there is someone who is like a chameleon, it is your idol).
Viral Video:
Well, the reply by the 61-year-old former Indian cricketer left the internet thinking that it was an indirect dig at MS Dhoni.
The whole confusion arose on social media as Sidhu used the complex Hindi word 'aaradhyadev,' which is usually not a part of our regular conversations.
This is when some people misconstrue its meaning to be someone whom we idolise, taking an indirect dig at the CSK legend because Rayudu idolises MS Dhoni.
Rayudu has been quite vocal with his reactions during the IPL 2025, where he openly expressed his admiration for CSK and MS Dhoni.
As soon as the video started making rounds on social media, Dhoni fans flooded the comment section on X (formerly called Twitter) saying, "Rayudu to Sidhu - Paji Jaise girgit rang badalta hai vaise aap team badalte ho. Sidhu to Rayudu: Is sansar me girgit ki tarah koi hai to tum ho or tumhare aradhyadev(Dhoni) hai ?"
"Honestly here, Rayudu is right," another wrote.
"Abbey 100 girgit to ye Sidhu akela kha leta hai, aur bol kisko raha hai ??"
"What nonsense is this... dragging players (jinka inse koi lena dena nahi) into their shit on national television. Both are shitmouth."
