Family of Kim Sae Ron to hold press conference today alleging ‘serious crime’ by Kim Soo Hyun; what we know so far

The controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron continues to intensify as her family prepares to speak out publicly. On May 6, the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute revealed that a press conference will be held on May 7, where what they describe as “Kim Soo Hyun’s serious crime” will be addressed.

Kim Sae Ron's family is scheduled to hold a press conference today at 2 p.m. KST (10:30 PM IST). The press conference will be led by Garo Sero’s Kim Se Ui alongside lawyer Boo Ji Seok, the head of Law Firm Buyou, who is now representing Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family. The channel stressed that access to the press conference will be strictly controlled, stating that entry will be restricted for anyone who cannot verify their identity. “You’ll understand why once you hear what’s said during the press conference,” they warned, describing the matter as extremely serious.

This comes a little over a month after Kim Soo Hyun attempted to put the rumors to rest in his own press conference on March 31. There, he acknowledged that he and Kim Sae Ron were in a relationship but claimed it only began after she turned of legal age. His agency, Gold Medalist, stated that the two dated from summer 2019 to fall 2020.

However, Kim Sae Ron’s family has alleged a different account. They claim the relationship began much earlier, in November 2015, and lasted until July 2021. If true, this would mean the actress was only 15 when their relationship started.

The family also accused Gold Medalist of adding to Kim Sae Ron’s distress after she left the agency. According to them, the company sent her a certified letter demanding she repay 700 million won, which they say caused immense psychological strain.

Kim Soo Hyun has taken legal action against Garosero and the late actress' family for sharing an intimate photo and issuing threats. He's seeking 12 billion won ($8.14 million) in damages and has also filed a stalking lawsuit against the YouTuber.
