A viewer of Meghan Markle¡¯s new Netflix series With Love, Meghan has threatened legal action after claiming a DIY bath salt recipe shown on the program caused her serious injuries. The woman, Robin Patrick, says she followed the exact demonstration featured on the show and suffered painful burns, ulcers, and complications.
Patrick said she recreated the bath salt blend Markle made as a gift for makeup artist Daniel Martin. The mix contained Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil, and lavender oil. Initially, Patrick felt mild tingling, but the sensation quickly turned into burning as the water reached her legs and lower body.
Alarmed, Patrick exited the bath and stirred the water by hand¡ªonly to worsen the situation. She described burning sensations on her hand and arm and tried soothing the pain with lotion and lidocaine spray. The discomfort reportedly intensified over the night, resulting in ulcers and sore patches.
Patrick, who has diabetes, is concerned about further complications. She said her condition has not improved, with fresh blister-like sores appearing daily. ¡°The pain feels as though it is burning from within,¡± she told Radar Online, noting the injuries have disrupted her daily life.
Patrick believes Markle and her team were careless. ¡°She had a duty of care,¡± Patrick said, accusing Markle, Netflix, and Archewell Productions of ¡°reckless disregard for public safety¡± by not warning viewers about potential risks of essential oils in bath use.
Patrick is reportedly seeking at least $75,000 for medical expenses and is demanding $10 million in damages. She is open to settling out of court if financial terms are agreed upon. There has been no public response from Meghan Markle or the production team so far.
