Before the carpet walk even began, social media was already popping off. Fans and fashion sleuths spotted celebs leaving the iconic Carlyle Hotel, the unofficial pre-Met Gala HQ. Early glimpses included Jennie, Teyana Taylor and Emma Chamberlain, who wasted no time making the sidewalk their pre-carpet catwalk. Meanwhile, Bad Bunny and Priyanka Chopra were seen earlier in the day, clearly gearing up for a night of high fashion and hotter takes.
But let us talk about the man of the moment, Colman Domingo, who absolutely devoured the theme, ¡°Superfine: Tailoring Black Style¡±. In a Valentino ensemble that screamed modern royalty, he rocked a vivid blue pleated cape with a sparkling silver chest piece¡ªgiving us ceremonial armour meets Met Gala majesty. Think: knight of high fashion realness.
Underneath all that glamour? A crisp black-and-white tweed combo. He paid tribute to the late Andr¨¦ Leon Talley, whose iconic 2011 Met cape still lives rent-free in every fashion fan¡¯s head.
