Paris Jackson, the 27-year-old daughter of the legendary 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson, receives major backlash online as she planned a performance gig on the death anniversary of her father. Reacting to this, Paris has now fired back at critics and fans who are slamming her on social media.
It has been about 16 years since the untimely death of legendary musician Michael Jackson. After so many years, Paris announced that she would be hitting the road with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra.
As soon as the piece of information surfaced on social media, it drew appreciation from her fans who are excited to see her perform, but the news also left some fans unhappy.
According to Parade, the first of Paris is scheduled to be on June 25, which is the same day as the anniversary of her father's death.
The moment the news surfaced online, fans took to their social media to criticise Paris for not taking the day off to honour Michael. "Are they even real fans? Because if they were, they wouldn't keep acting like this. It makes the whole fanbase look like some cult. Paris has every right to grieve in her own way. It's really not up to us. This just makes all of us look sooo bad. Smh ?," one user wrote on X.
While another added, "She frequently shows how much she doesn't care with MJ , she only care with His M?n$yyy."
The growing online backlash led Paris to react to it, and in response to the trolling, she went to her Instagram stories and responded to the comments.
In the posts, she explained that she had absolutely no choice as to when the tour began and was grateful to be asked to perform. She went on to say, "So people are mad again. This time, I think, I guess one of the first tour dates I'm supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family."
Noticing the response, some fans came in support of her and said on a Reddit post, "She owes no explanation to anyone." "It's been 16 years; let the woman live in peace."
On June 25, 2009, the legendary artist Michael Jackson passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 50. According to EBSCO, the singer died from an overdose of propofol and other prescription drugs.?
