Surender Patil, a reel-maker from Thakurli near Dombivli in Maharashtra¡¯s Thane district, is facing grave criminal charges. A 19-year-old woman from Nashik has filed a complaint accusing Patil and his driver of raping and repeatedly molesting her under the guise of a job offer. According to the victim, Patil lured her with a promise of employment at the Mumbai International Airport and proceeded to exploit her trust.?While some laugh, others imitate, including well-known YouTubers like Harsh Beniwal. But behind this seemingly cinematic bravado lies a dark, disturbing truth.
Between February 16 and March 29, the victim alleges she was sexually assaulted multiple times. Patil allegedly used his firearm to threaten her and even blackmailed her by threatening to release objectionable videos. When she resisted further coercion, he is said to have physically attacked her and forced a humiliating search of her person. Her complaint also claims that Patil made repeated threats to harm her family.
Thane Police have charged Patil and his driver under IPC Sections 64 (rape), 74 (outraging a woman¡¯s modesty), 115(2) (causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal conspiracy), and 3(5) (common intention), along with provisions of the Arms Act. Sources reveal that this is not Patil¡¯s first brush with the law¡ªhe has reportedly misused his licensed weapon, flaunted cash in reels, and even filmed himself lounging in a senior police officer¡¯s chair.
What is shocking, however, is the sheer audacity with which Patil continues his social media presence. He posts videos with his friends, and the people who are working under him. He can be seen dancing and partying at on so many events despite the charges. And out of all these videos, the one which went viral is also from one of the events, but because of how he is dancing and smiling and people on the internet think he is a pookie gangster.??
And just four days ago, he posted a video outside a jail, implying his release. In a clip aired on a news channel, Patil claimed the victim herself offered surety for his bail, stating she had no objection to his release, a statement that has sparked further controversy and public confusion.
This serves as a chilling reminder of how social media fame can often mask criminal behaviour. While influencers and fans continue to replicate his reel for views and likes, the real story is far from entertainment.
Surender Patil might be going viral, but the reasons are rooted in serious allegations that deserve more than just digital applause.
