Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain, Rishabh Pant, once again finds himself surrounded by massive discussion over social media. On Tuesday, April 8, during the mega clash between LSG and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, Pant decided to go after Abdul Samad and David Miller for batting. The move is now being heavily mocked by fans on the internet.
In the last few matches, Rishabh Pant has been seen struggling to deliver a great performance for the team, despite being the most expensive player in the history of the IPL mega auction.
In the last 5 matches, Pant has scored only 19 runs at an average of 4.75, with a highest score of 15. Amid this, the decision of the wicketkeeper-batsman to come in the final over is not really appreciated by fans.
As the LSG captain chose to come after Abdul Samad and David Miller in the last over, fans compared him with Chennai Super Kings (CSK)'s MS Dhoni, who has also been coming in late for CSK in the last few matches.
One said, "Rishabh Pant, don't act like MS Dhoni, please."
"Rishabh Pant is the new version of Dhoni Not Coming To Bat ??," another wrote.
While one said, "Rishabh pant thinks he is ms dhoni or some"
"Seems Rishabh Pant wanna be next MS Dhoni ?"
"At age of 44, MS Dhoni has been more useful to CSK than Rishabh Pant to LSG.
Pant is literally carried by batting brilliance of Pooran, Marsh & Markram. He is getting 27 crores for being a complete shit.
& everyone want MSD retire not Rishabh Pant??"
"First Dhoni Now Rishabh Pant Hiding behind others and don't come for batting."
"Rishabh Pant is now official successor of MS Dhoni by hiding himself in the dugout and not come out to bat."
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the toss against LSG and chose to bowl first. Well, Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, who put up 99 runs for the first wicket, showed an ideal start to the match. Following this, Nicholas Pooran then came into the fray and continued the punishment of the KKR bowlers.
