'We will either find a way or make one': that's the motto with which Border Roads Organisation (BRO) works. The road executive construction force has made it a habit of doing the impossible.
Adding another feather to their glittering cap, BRO launched an important bridge on the highway that connects Shillong and Silchar, India Today reported.?

The Army, in its statement on Thursday, said that?the commenced launching of the bridge on March 11 and completed on March 15, within five days, which was envisaged to be launched in 15 days.
"The construction of bridge on existing depilated piers was a unique experience for BRO. The Completion of bridge in five days speaks volume of the BROs ethos and professionalism towards service of the Nation. Prompt action by BRO has brought much need succour to the local population and has been deeply appreciated by the Civil Administration," the Army said.

The existing RCC bridge was in dilapidated state and was declared unfit for heavy vehicle after it had developed cracks on the main beams and piers. It was creating hurdles as traffic had to be diverted to other routes resulting in people facing inconvenience.?
In December last year, NHAI approached BRO for constructing a bridge at Barapani. Given the construction of new bridge would have taken at least three years, Director General BRO, on humanitarian grounds, gave his consent for construction of alternate bridge on fast track basis.??
After considering all design aspects, it was decided to construct a 230 feet continuous span Bailey Bridge. BRO commenced launching of the bridge on 11 Mar 2021 and completed on 15 Mar 2021. This act of BRO has been appreciated by everyone.? ?
