WWE SmackDown results: R-Truth took on John Cena in the main event of WWE SmackDown on June 20 and pushed the Undisputed Champion to the limit. R-Truth faced off against John Cena in the main event of WWE SmackDown on June 20. The 53-year-old took down ¡®The GOAT¡¯ with a tackle to start the contest. He went on to nail him with flying shoulder tackles. Cena, however, soon managed to turn the tide and managed to hit Truth with shoulder tackles and the ¡®knuckle shuffle¡¯.?
He even attempted the AA but the veteran countered it. Truth then took down Cena with a Stone Cold Steve Austin-like Lou Thesz Press. This prompted the?soon-to-retire star to attempt to walk out of the match. Truth tried to stop him,?but received a shot with the belt instead. This gave him a DQ win over his ¡®Childhood Hero¡¯.? Punk soon came to Truth¡¯s rescue but received a low blow and two belt shots. Cena then put Punk through a table and cut a promo quite similar to the one ¡®The Second City Saint¡¯ delivered over a decade ago. ¡®The Champ¡¯ implied Punk was a hypocrite and a ¡®con¡¯.?
John Cena will be defending his title against CM Punk at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia next week. This will be the second time the two lock horns during Cena¡¯s retirement tour. The Marine star had briefly locked up with ¡®The Best in the World¡¯ during the Elimination Chamber match this March. Cena eventually locked Punk in the STF (after interference from Seth Rollins) to pick up the win.?
