Is The Sandman: Season 2 the last season?
In disappointing news for fans, The Sandman Season 2 has been confirmed to be the series' final chapter, with Tom Sturridge returning as Dream one last time.
The Sandman: Season 1 recap
Sandman Season 1 (released August 2022 on Netflix) follows Dream, also known as Morpheus, one of the seven Endless - immortal beings tied to powerful forces like Death and Desire.
He rules over dreams, but when a ritual goes wrong in 1916, a human occultist accidentally traps him instead of Death.
Stripped of his magical tools, Dream spends a century in captivity while both the dream world and reality spiral into chaos.

After breaking free, Dream sets out to reclaim his stolen items, fix his broken realm, and track down nightmares that escaped into the human world.
He faces a powerful "dream vortex" that threatens to collapse both realms, and ultimately defeats the rogue nightmare The Corinthian.
By the finale, Dream has restored balance for now.
But trouble brews in Hell, where Lucifer plots revenge, and a personal chapter closes as Dream helps his former lover, Calliope, reconnecting over their shared past and the fate of their son.
What to expect in The Sandman: Season 2
Season 2 picks up just weeks after the events of Season 1. Dream has returned to the Dreaming and is focused on rebuilding his realm and moving forward.
As he reshapes his palace, he makes a promise to let go of the past.

According to Netflix, a major reunion with his family forces Dream into a new fight - to save himself, his realm, and the waking world.
While fans of the comic may know where Dream's journey ends, showrunner Allan Heinberg says the show stays true to the core of the original story "but in a way that I hope will surprise the book's loyal fans."
