Actress Seema Pahwa recently talked candidly about her growing frustration with the increasingly commercial aspect of the film industry in an interview with Bollywood Thikana. She said it's probably time to say goodbye to the industry.
IndianExpress quoted the outlet saying ¡°The condition is very bad in the industry and in a way they have murdered creative people in the industry. It has been completely taken over by businessmen. They want to keep this industry alive with their business mind. I don¡¯t think we, who have worked for so many years in the industry, can sustain this mindset.
Seema went on to discuss how artistic ideals have been neglected by the industry. She also discussed how hiring stars is a top priority for directors in order to guarantee that their movies make money. She also said that OTT space is very commercial. She went on to admit that because of all this she has diverted herself to theater yet again.
¡°I don¡¯t think we will get the respect that we deserve in films or the sort of work we deserve,¡± she said.

As Badki in the well-liked Doordarshan serial series Hum Log, Pahwa gained popularity. She began her career as an actor with the Delhi-based theater company Sambhav before relocating to Mumbai in 1994 to pursue her career in movies and television. In addition to her acting credits, she directed her first movie, Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, which debuted at the 2019 Mumbai Film Festival and was released in theaters in 2021.
