Ranbir Kapoor Thanks Paresh Rawal For Stepping In Rishi Kapoor's Shoes For Sharmaji Namkeen
Rishi Kapoor's swan-song Sharmaji Namkeen is slated to release on March 31 this year. Ranbir Kapoor has a special message for all fans ahead of the trailer release of the film.
Fans will get a chance to watch Rishi Kapoor light the silver screen up with his presence for the last time with the release of his swan-song, Sharmaji Namkeen. The film's trailer will be out tomorrow and it is slated to release on March 31 this year. Rishi Kapoor breathed his last in April 2020 and left a void in the industry that will always be there.
Ahead of the trailer release of Sharmaji Namkeen, Ranbir Kapoor has a special message for all fans.

In a video shared by Farhan Akhtar, Ranbir Kapoor reveals how he almost filled in for his father by thinking of wearing prosthetics but nothing was really working out. He then thanked Paresh Rawal for stepping in to complete the film.
Ranbir began the video by saying, "Hi, I am here to share something that makes Sharmaji Namkeen a very special film." He then adds, that this film isn't just special to him because it is his father's last one, but because 'he (Rishi Kapoor) really believed in the story.
The actor then reveals how Rishi Kapoor's health took a toll in the middle of the shoot but the veteran star wanted to complete the film somehow. "The show must go on," says Ranbir and reveals how he tried finishing the film by trying on prosthetics to carry forward the role but things didn't work out.
"We all thought that the film wouldn't be completed and it was a very tough time. It was then that Mr Paresh Rawal stepped in and helped us complete the film. It was very generous of him to take up this challenge because one character being played by two different actors is extremely rare in the film world."

Ranbir concluded the video by saying "Sharmaji Namkeen will always be one of (my) most fondest memories of my father. Up on screen, bringing a smile to his countless fans.¡± He further announced that the trailer of the film will be out on Thursday.
Earlier, in an interview with PTI, Paresh Rawal had opened up about the experience of shooting for the film. He had said, "I respected him (Rishi Kapoor) a lot as a human being. He was the father of my most favourite actor, Ranbir Kapoor, such a fine talent of the Kapoor family. To do his role, to carry it forward was a responsibility. I knew I had to approach it with a lot of elegance. One can't take it for granted."
