The people of Ukraine have refused to bow down to intimidation - with civilians lining up at army recruitment camps to do their part for the country.

A popular Ukrainian singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk has also signed up to volunteer for the army against Russian forces.
Now, a video posted by the Ukrainian defence ministry has gone viral, showing Khlyvnyuk, the lead singer of the rock group BoomBox, dressed in military gear and armed with a gun on the streets of Kyiv, as he sang a song to rally his fellow countrymen.

Khlyvnyuk has reportedly joined Ukraine's Territorial Defense Forces - the country's military reserve component - in order to defend the capital's streets against Russian attempts to capture the city.
BoomBox is one of Ukraine's most iconic bands, having gained a massive following in both Ukraine and abroad since forming in 2004.

Earlier in the band's career, they had toured frequently in Russia, but have not performed in the country since the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
¡°I¡¯ll take my kids to a safe house, to granny¡¯s. And then I¡¯ll return to follow the instructions of the government and if it¡¯s needed I¡¯ll take my gun and go fight for my country, Khlyvnyuk told Euronews last week.
¡°Musicians are peacemakers. But not it¡¯s not time for playing guitars. It¡¯s time to take the rifles," he added.
