Superhuman! Pro Cyclist Rides Across Wind Turbine Blade To Promote Renewable Energy, Old Video Stuns Internet

Activists and protestors have gone to many extremes to raise awareness about the state of the planet and how changes in our consumption patterns can save the environment. One such pro-cyclist put his superhuman cape on and decided to ride the blade of a wind turbine to raise awareness of renewable energy.

Danny MacAskill, a man who gave up his job as a mechanic to become a full-time cyclist, took on the challenge of riding the blade before the Cop26 (Conference of Parties) climate summit commenced. The cyclist usually does mountain bike and street trials but back in 2021, the rider made a statement with his record-making oscillations.

The incredible footage of the stunt shows the cyclist mounting the giant white wind turbine with his cycle in his hand. The Scottish pro cyclist did not attempt to ride the blade so high up without any safety methods in place. Danny was strapped to a zipline that ran across the middle of the blade of the turbine while he rode his bike to the very end of the narrow blade.

After completing the stunt that has never been attempted by cyclists before without any casualties, Danny was proud. ¡°It¡¯s so high up it doesn¡¯t feel high, it¡¯s unrealistically high up,¡± he said while mounting the turbine. He also recounted, ¡°I will say that fibreglass and bike tyres don¡¯t go that well together, it¡¯s slippy stuff.¡±

The Cyclist Hoped That His Stunt Would Raise Awareness And Help The Planet Heal

Danny commented on the cause he took on the dangerous stunt for, ¡°I made this film for Cop26 and I didn¡¯t realise how abundant renewable energy is ¡­ It¡¯s a good feeling knowing renewable energy is taking off and the balance is changing. Hopefully, the planet can start healing.¡±

Including his ride on the turbine blade, the pro cyclist completed 29 tricks for a documentary ahead of Cop26, representing 29% of the world¡¯s energy that is used every day from renewable energy sources. Riding the cycle across the wind turbine was the last stunt in the series.

People on the internet were not too enthusiastic about the old video making rounds online again. One user mocked the cyclist's safety helmet, ¡°Good thing he¡¯s got his bike helmet on!¡±
