Toddler Falls Off Jeep As Parents Doze Off, Crawls On Road In Middle Of The Forest In Kerala

It must have been a scary and a crazy night for the baby who was found crawling in the middle of the road in a forest in Kerala¡¯s Idukki district. A police officer who was going through that area found the baby on Saturday night.

The one-year-old girl had fallen off a speeding jeep. Her parents and extended family, who had dozen off in the SUV did not realise that she had fallen off. She was then miraculously found and by the police officer and reunited with the parents.

The CCTV footage shows the baby falling off the SUV and after that she can be seen crawling in the forest on a deserted road. A forest official saw the baby crawling near a check post in the dark. She also had injuries on her head.

Soon after, Sub-Inspector Santosh KM, got a call and the forest official said that he had seen a baby crawling in the forest area and they also alerted all the police stations in the region. By then the baby¡¯s parents had realised that she was missing and had approached the police.

"I got the alarm call around 9:40 pm. By 10 pm, the infant was with us and medical aid was given. Messages were passed to all police station limits. By 11 pm, we got to know that a child missing complaint had been filed at one of the police stations around 6 km away. We called the parents and the child has been safely reunited," Santosh KM told NDTV.

The incident took place when the baby and her family were returning home from Tamil Nadu after performing some temple rituals. The baby has a brother and a sister.
