Yash Dayal dismisses MS Dhoni again as home team defeat CSK; 'RCB, RCB' chants echo as they top IPL 2025 table
It felt like d¨¦j¨¤ vu from last year's game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched a narrow win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to qualify for the Playoffs in IPL 2024.

For the first time in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have completed a league double win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK)! It felt like d¨¦j¨¤ vu from last year's game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where RCB clinched a narrow win to qualify for the Playoffs in IPL 2024.
Now in 2025, at the same venue, the match once again went down to the wire, and RCB secured a thrilling 2-run victory ¡ª thanks to Yash Dayal, who dismissed MS Dhoni in the last over and nailed his Yorkers, just like he did last year, sealing the win for Bengaluru.

What happened in the clash?
Just when the game seemed firmly in CSK's grasp, RCB's death bowling turned the tide. Suyash Sharma set the tone with a tight 18th over despite dealing with a wet ball. Then came Yash Dayal ¡ª once again RCB's hero at the death, just like last year. He dismissed MS Dhoni and, despite a high full-toss no-ball that was smashed for six, the pacer held his nerve to defend the final three deliveries.
Earlier in the chase, 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre delivered a sensational knock, stitching together a 115-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja after a strong start. Mhatre targeted Bhuvneshwar Kumar in a fiery over where every ball found the boundary. But momentum shifted dramatically when Lungi Ngidi broke the partnership as he dismissed Mhatre before he got his 100 and removed Dewald Brevis on the next delivery ¡ª a controversial decision that proved pivotal in RCB's narrow victory.
