Halle Bailey, best known for her role in The Little Mermaid, has been granted temporary sole legal and physical custody of her 17-month-old son, Halo Saint, following a court filing that includes serious allegations against her former partner, rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., known professionally as DDG.
According to newly filed court documents reported by People, Bailey, 25, was also granted a temporary restraining order against DDG. The order, currently in effect until 4 June 2025, requires DDG to remain at least 100 yards away from both Bailey and their son. This legal step follows Bailey¡¯s claims of physical, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse throughout their relationship.

The pair began dating in 2022 and welcomed their son in December 2023. However, their relationship reportedly ended in 2024, with Bailey citing an escalating pattern of behaviour that led her to seek legal protection.
In her filing, Bailey requested that DDG not be granted unsupervised visitation rights. Instead, she proposed that visits be limited to six hours per week, conducted through a professional supervised visitation service, and only when the child is in Los Angeles. She also requested that DDG be barred from removing Halo from Los Angeles County, citing concerns of potential child abduction based on past incidents where she claimed he hid their son or failed to cooperate with shared parenting responsibilities.

Bailey further asked the court to restrict DDG from applying for or holding travel documents for Halo without her written consent. If any travel is permitted, she wants full travel itineraries, round-trip tickets, and an open return ticket provided for her, in case Halo is not returned as agreed.
In a written statement to the court, Bailey expressed that she had made every effort to resolve matters privately but felt compelled to act in order to protect herself and her child. She described feeling unsafe and uncertain about when the next threat or incident might occur, saying the situation had become untenable.
The next court hearing will determine whether the current orders will be extended or modified. In the meantime, Bailey retains full custody, with clear legal safeguards in place for Halo¡¯s wellbeing.
