People are getting set to enjoy the spookiest holiday of the year as Halloween approaches. Elsie Fisher, Amiah Miller, Cathy Ang, and Rachel Ogechi Kanu appear in the brand-new horror-comedy "My Best Friend's Exorcism."

Set in 1988, My Best Friend's Exorcism is a story about best friends Abby and Gretchen as they deal with boys, pop culture, and a supernatural entity holding onto Gretchen. Abby is resolved to drive the demon back to the depths of hell with the aid of a mall exorcist, assuming Gretchen is not killed first.

The cast discussed the value of representation, how vital it was to be loyal to Grady Hendrix's writings, and other topics in an exclusive conversation with the Times Of India. The girls also discussed this spook-underlying fest's message of camaraderie and optimism while they were at it.

Discussing how Grady Hendrix's book was adapted for the screen, Rachel said, "Our characters are white in the script, so the characters were completely changed for this live-action production, so it feels really good to be included in it."

In addition to the monster, this movie also highlights the true atrocities that girls endure.

When questioned about one learning women should take from this film, Racheal Ogechi Kanu said, "I think supporting the women around you is one of the biggest messages I hope people take away from this. With me and Cathy's characters in specific, definitely have an interesting relationship, but I hope you see the representation of our characters and how people accept their friends and learn to love and cherish them. I hope women can take away the message of uplifting each other, regardless of background or any other things."

Elsie said, "Society, especially Hollywood as a culture and the movies it produces, sort of wants to pit women against each other, but the conflict is resolved by their love for each other and friendship. Hopefully, that can translate into real life."
