The 1967 Los Angeles suburb setting centres on the Zander family, who are well-known for defrauding people out of their money by claiming to be in touch with their deceased loved ones. The ghost of Amanda's mother soon begins tormenting her life as her daughter wonders what secrets and lies her mother has been hiding. A small nation in the Balkan Peninsula of southeast Europe called Macedonia is the setting for the historical novel You Won't Be Alone, which is set in the 1800s in a rural village there. A little girl named Nevena is abducted by a legendary, homicidal figure known as Old Maid Maria, also known as the Wolf-Eateress, in the horror movie Wolf-Eatress. The film follows the disturbing series of events that follow. As a result of Old Maid Maria's transformation of Nevena into a shape-shifting witch, she starts murdering villagers and soon realises that she has the ability to assume the identities of her victims once they fall prey to her dreadful powers.

Ever hear that playing video games can be fatal? In the horror movie Choose or Die, Kayla, a young student who has just lost her job, finds an ancient video game from the 1980s. Kayla begins playing the game that is akin to "Choose Your Own Adventure" with the assistance of her pal Isaac. But as a succession of terrifying incidents occur and reality begins to disintegrate, Kayla and Isaac come to realise that the game they are playing is actually not a game at all.
