According to an Economic Times report, Tourist Family will be streaming on JioHotstar starting 31st May, 2025, following the four-week window prescribed between theatrical outing and its digital debut. However, an official confirmation is awaited. By the end of just three days, Tourist Family earned Rs 8.25 crore in total.

Other than the lead duo, the film also stars Mithun Jai Sankar, Yogi Babu, Kamalesh, M. S. Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Abishan Jeevinth, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, Sreeja Ravi and Yogalakshmi among others. Tourist Family is written and directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth and jointly produced by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment.
Tourist Family¡¯s plot overview
A Tamil family from Sri Lanka¡¯s Jaffna is hit hard by the country¡¯s economic crisis after the COVID-19 pandemic. The father, Dharmadas, decides to move his wife and two kids to India, hoping for a better life. Once they arrive in India, they face many struggles, no money, no job, and a lot of culture shock. At first, they don¡¯t know the language well, and people treat them like outsiders.
Slowly, with small jobs and help from a few kind people, the family starts to adjust. They stick together through every problem, trying to keep their hope alive. The film shows how they survive, stay united, and try to build a new life in a place that doesn¡¯t always welcome them but where they eventually find peace and a sense of belonging.
