Farhan Akhtar, Randeep Hooda Laud Boxer Satish Kumar For His Bravery At Tokyo Olympics
He is a two-time Asian Games bronze winner and multiple-time national champion. He managed to make history by just qualifying for the Games as he was the first super heavyweight from India to achieve the feat.
Boxer Satish Kumar's bravery and courage won many hearts in India. Kumar entered the boxing ring with 13 stitches on his face but still managed to make a graceful quarterfinal exit from the Olympic Games on Sunday.
Bollywood celebrities Farhan Akhtar and Randeep Hooda took to their social media accounts to laud Kumar's bravery.

Why is Satish Kumar's victory being talked about and lauded?

Jalolov, a 27-year-old footballer-turned-boxer, gave a neck-to-neck competition to Kumar at the end by nodding in appreciation towards him. He earned a maiden Olympic Games medal for himself.
Kumar sustained two deep cuts on his forehead and chin during the pre-quarterfinals, decided to fight his next bout against Uzbek superstar Jalolov.

In an interview, Kumar--who is on medication right now- said his phone is flooded with congratulatory calls and messages. Even though he didn't win, his zeal and enthusiasm are being touted as 'inspiring.'
He fought with world champion Bakhodir Jalolov despite multiple stitches on his forehead and chin.

"My chin has seven stitches, and my forehead has another six. Par marta kya na karta, I knew I wanted to fight. Otherwise, I would have lived with that regret of what if. Now I can be at peace and also probably a little content with myself that I gave my best," he said.
Father of two, Kumar said, "My wife had told me not to fight. My father also said that it is too much to watch me fight like this. That's not unexpected, and family can't see you hurt. But then they understood that I wanted to do this."
