Google I/O 2022 Showcases New Pixel 6A, Pixel Buds Pro With ANC, And Android 13

Google's annual "I/O" developer conference included a series of announcements pertaining to Google's hardware and software. The most significant ones include the Google Pixel 6A, the Pixel Buds Pro, and a sneak peek into the upcoming Google Pixel 7 series.

Google shared the first look of new products it intends to launch this autumn to follow up the Pixel 6. The Pixel 7 series includes Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, and the keynote showed the camera design for both the devices.

The company also offered us the first look at Google Pixel Tablet. It is being pitched as a competitor to iPad.

In addition, Google also FINALLY showed us what the Pixel Watch will look like. The beautiful, round, bezel-less dial of the Pixel Watch was shown in the I/O keynote. The Pixel Watch will run on WearOS.

Google Pixel Buds Pro

Noise cancelling earbuds are all the rage, and Google has finally caught on! At Google I/O, the company finally announced a pair of buds that come with active noise cancellation (ANC) capabilities.

Powered by a custom audio processor, the Google Pixel Buds Pro will have a transparency mode to make sure users are in touch with their immediate surroundings, as is now customary on all high-end earbuds.

The Pixel Buds Pro are expected to cost $199 (?15,443) and should go on sale by July this year.

Google Pixel 6A

Google also announced the new Pixel 6A, a smartphone that aims to bring Pixel 6 series' Tensor powered experience to a more affordable device.

With a price tag of $449 (?34,844), the device is a new spin on Google's much loved Pixel 6 series. Mind you, the Pixel 6 series is still not available in India. But it appears that Pixel 6A will most likely launch in India.

Sporting an aluminum frame with 12.2 megapixel main camera on the back along with a 12 megapixel ultrawide camera, the Google Pixel 6A comes with the same Tensor 5G chip that runs Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

It comes with most Pixel camera features like magic eraser, nightsight, etc. The device will get up to 5 years of security updates and should be available in July end.

Android 13

At Google I/O, the company also announced Android 13. The latest operating software update for Android is expected to take on key problems like privacy and user safety.

In addition, Android 13's "Material You" will offer more customisation - allowing users to allot different languages to different aps. Android 13 will also work better with large screen devices like tablets and foldables. To this end, Google is expected to update its coteries of 20 apps to support tablets and foldables.

The upcoming OS, scheduled for release this autumn, will also come with Google Wallet that stores all your payment cards. Users will also be able to store important documents like identification proofs on the Wallet.
