Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) once again faced off on Sunday, May 4, in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Well, it was just not a regular match; LSHG fans were eagerly waiting to witness their captain, Rishabh Pant, perform. Unfortunately, LSG fans were left heartbroken as Rishabh Pant continued to be in the same horrible form.
Pant clearly looked scratchy, as he has been all season, falling to score while chasing 237 against the Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. His poor form was clear as he failed to connect well with the ball, even on the batting-friendly surface at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
Rishabh Pant's dismissal shocks fans again
The incident happened on the fifth ball of the eighth over, when Omarzai had created pressure on the left-hander, and he was batting at 18 (16) in the chase of 237.
He charged down the pitch to a wide, good-length delivery, trying to power it over mid-wicket, but he lost grip of his bat, which flew toward square leg. Meanwhile, the ball travelled to deep point. On the other hand, the LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka's disheartened expression during the match caught fans' attention once again, which is now doing the rounds on social media.

This was Pant's only fourth double-digit score in the IPL 2025 season so far. Currently, he has just 128 runs in 10 innings at an average of 12.80 and an average rate of 99.22. He just has one half-century. Lucknow Super Giants went on to lose the match by 37 runs.
