China Bans 'Beijing Bikinis' & It's High Time India Bans Some Gross Public Habits Too!
Beijingbikinis banned with heavy fines to be imposed on those caught bare-bellied. Public bickering jumping queues littering and uncivilised dog walking are also being targetted under the notice.
In some Chinese cities, streets are full of middle-aged men showing their bellies in a trend that came to be known as 'Beijing bikinis.'
But for authorities this unseemly habit was an eyesore and showed the city in a bad light and so the decision was taken to ban it altogether, with heavy fines to be imposed on those caught bare-bellied.
For those unaware, the 'Beijing bikini' trend started after people in China were caught up their shirts and rolling it so it would stay. The exposed bellied, it seemed, helped locals beat the heat.
But along with the ban on this so-called trend come multiple other bans on improper public behaviour.
According to a CNN report, authorities said they planned to crack down on "improper dressing in public places," which included "shirtlessness" and "wanton exposure of body parts."
Public bickering, jumping queues, littering, and "uncivilised dog walking" are also being targetted under the notice, which is aimed at enhancing the image of the city.
Of the 'bad habits' listed above, so many happen in India alone. It's high time something was done about it. Like China, it's as easy to find Indian men walking topless on the road in some cities.
But the problems that are still glaring are of course public urination, men spitting anywhere and everywhere, and so many other jeering for hours on end.

Habits that seem almost incorrigible.
In Indian we have a Police Act of 1861 which enlists the offenses that can be committed on roads etc. The clause under Section 34 reads as follows:
"Any person who, on any road or in any open place or street or thoroughfare within the limits of any town to which this section shall be specially extended by the State Government, commits any of the following offences, to the obstructions inconvenience, annoyance, risk, danger or damage of the residents or passengers shall, on conviction before a Magistrate, be liable to fine not exceeding fifty rupees, or to imprisonment with or without hard labor not exceeding eight days."
That's not all. Section 290 of the Indian Penal Code enumerates the punishment for public nuisance as: 'Whoever commits a public nuisance in any case not otherwise punishable by this Code, shall be punished with a fine which may extend to two hundred rupees.¡±
But despite the provision in IPC and law, things just don't seem to change in our society and it's almost become a part of our everyday life.
Isn't it high time stricter bans were imposed on things that give our country a bad name?
