WWE Backlash 2025: Dominik Mysterio beats Penta with help from El Grande Americano

WWE Backlash 2025: Dominik Mysterio defeated Penta to retain the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Backlash 2025. He received help from The Judgement Day and El Grande Americano. This is the second time the Mexican star has lost to Mysterio in a matter of weeks.

Backlash 2025: Penta loses to Dominik Mysterio

Penta, who lost to Dominik Mysterio on the Raw after WrestleMania 41, challenged him for the Intercontinental title at Backlash 2025. ¡®Dirty Dom¡¯ started out strong and held his own against the Mexican star in the initial portions. He even managed to limit his high-flying offence by attacking his legs. Additionally, he nailed his opponent with Oblivion. Penta, however, managed to turn the tables with a Mexican Destroyer.

The Judgement Day soon appeared at the ringside to help Dominik. However, the referee caught Finn Balor with a chair and asked the villainous faction to get lost. Finn managed to distract the official and this gave El Grande Americano an opportunity to deliver a loaded headbutt to Penta and help Dominik get the win.

What¡¯s next for Penta, Dominik Mysterio?

Going by the finish, Penta will soon be turning his attention to El Grande Americano. ¡®The Greatest Luchador¡¯ has previously had issues with Rey Fenix, Penta¡¯s brother, who he beat at WrestleMania 41.

Dominik, on the other hand, may soon find himself dealing with AJ Styles, who is set to take on Finn Balor this week on Raw.
