It¡¯s not easy to be an actor in this competitiveworld of cinema. Every minute, there is one person who dreams of featuring on the silver screen and there are only a few who make it with their determination. Vikrant Massey and Taapsee Pannu can be counted in that category as they have made it on their own without any backing.
Talking to Siddharth Kannan, they both revealed how they have ben replaced in films last minute and get to know through media.
Vikrant said, ¡°Workshop chal rahi hai, aapreading kar rahe ho, producer aapko bula ke khila raha hai, pila raha hai,poora dhyan rakh raha hai, aap do hafte mein shoot pe jaa rahe ho (I was doinga workshop, readings, the producer was pampering me and I was supposed to beginshooting in two weeks),¡± he said, adding that both times, he went on a shortoutdoor shoot to finish some patchwork for another project, and came back tofind out that he was no longer a part of the film. ¡°It¡¯s happened a couple oftimes but I think that¡¯s a part of the job".
He even added how they do not have the courtesy to even to inform about their replacements, ¡°Aur aisa bhi nahi hai kicommunication hai (It is not like it was communicated to me that I was beingreplaced). You get to know via-via. Mereko media ke through pata chala (I foundout through the media). Suddenly, one day, I picked up the newspaper and I waslike, ¡®Arre, yeh toh main kar raha tha do din pehle (Two days ago I was doingthis film)!¡±.
Taapsee, who was a part of the interactionas well as they were promoting their upcoming film Haseen Dilbruba together,said that the makers did apologise for replacing but didn¡¯t reveal the realreason. Taapsee had earlier spoken about being replaced in Pati Patni Aur Wohin public,?
¡°Mujhe bas nikal diya gaya. I got to knowthrough media. They called me, just to apologise, after I had spoken out. Butstill they were hesitant to reveal the real reason behind the decision.¡±
Indeed, these two have come a long way.
