We Tried 9 Dessert Recipes Using Only 4 Ingredients & Here's How That Turned Out

The current weather has put us all in the mood to eat something that is pleasurably sweet and unique. But a bar of chocolate or store-bought chocolate chip cookies won't make the cut.

And we don't have the patience or the skill to make something supremely complicated like a cheese-cake. So what do we do? Deprive ourselves? Nah.

We've put together nine stellar recipes that require only four ingredients to create decadent desserts. The best part, you can indulge without spending hours in the kitchen. Who knew decadence could be SO easy!

1. Strawberry fool.

Ingredients: Strawberry, sugar syrup and whipped cream.

Chop up the strawberries and let them sit for 25 minutes. Drizzle one spoon of sugar syrup as we want to also retain the natural sweetness of the strawberries. Whip up some cream and add the cut strawberries. Use shot glasses to serve and sprinkle more strawberries on top. This one's a minimalist dessert that not only tastes amazing but looks stellar too!

2. Raspberry sangria frozen pops.

Ingredients: Red wine, pomegranate juice, sugar, and raspberries.

In a jug, add 250 ml of red wine, 100 ml of pomegranate juice and mix it with chopped raspberries (200 grams). You will need ice-cream molds and you have to pour the sangria in the mold and set it with an ice-cream stick. Freeze over-night and you will have a delicious treat all under 15 minutes of prep.

3. Bittersweet chocolate mousse.

Ingredients: 285 grams of dark chocolate of your liking.

Prepare an ice bath with cold water and ice, and place a smaller bowl above it. In another pot, start to melt your dark chocolate by placing it on the gas stove. Whisk for 10 minutes or until the chocolate has fully melted. Once done, transfer the chocolate into the bowl on the ice-bath. Whisk until the chocolate becomes dense and thick. Freeze it for four hours. Serve in small bowls and garnish with white chocolate chips.

4. Cookies and cream pie.

Ingredients: 15 chocolate cream biscuits, half cup sugar, 300 ml fresh cream and crushed cookies crust.

Cut 10 chocolate biscuits in half and arrange as a crust. In a medium bowl, whip heavy cream and sugar until it thickens. Pour the mixture onto the cookie crust and create an even layer. Crumble the remaining five cookies and sprinkle over the top. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight, to soften the cookies.

5. Pannacotta.

Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of gelatin, 480 ml heavy cream, 50 grams sugar and your choice of fruit for dressing.

Place a small bowl with water and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of gelatin. The intent is to let the crystals dissolve properly in water. At the same time, in a medium pan, heat cream and sugar. Bring it to a boil once the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir the mixture of cream and sugar with the gelatin until it's smooth and dissolved. Pour cream into four individual serving dishes. Refrigerate for at least two to four hours, or until completely set. Top it off with fruits or a fruit sauce.

6. Baked pears.

Ingredients: Pears, maple syrup, granola, and cinnamon.

Cut pears in half and remove the seeds. Place the pears evenly on a baking tray. Mix maple syrup with sugar in a bowl and brush the pears with it. Sprinkle cinnamon and granola on top. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 25 minutes. Serve hot and instantly!

7. Condensed milk ice cream.

Ingredients: 1 cup cold heavy cream, 1 cup sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

In a mixer, whip heavy cream until it begins to thicken. Add vanilla and continue whipping. At the same time, slowly pour in condensed milk and whip until dense. Transfer into a container for freezing overnight. Serve with chocolate chips on top.
